The movie follows Ugyen (played by Sherab Dorji), a young, modern schoolteacher living in Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. Ugyen dreams of moving to Australia to pursue a singing career. However, he is bound by a government contract and is sent to complete his final year of service in the most remote school in the world: Lunana. The Journey to Lunana
